How to Make Crispix Muddie Buddies

These are so easy, fun, and delicious!

Step 1: Melt the chocolate

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each one, until smooth and melted.

Step 2: Add the vanilla

Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Step 3: Coat the cereal

Pour the Crispix cereal into a large bowl. Gently add the chocolate mixture and stir carefully with a large spoon or spatula until every piece is coated.

Step 4: Add the powdered sugar

Sprinkle the powdered sugar over the cereal and toss gently until fully coated. (Or try the zip-top bag method below!)

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Crispix cereal
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Add the semi sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter to a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high in 30 second intervals, stirring well between each interval, until fully melted.
  • Stir in the vanilla.
  • Pour the Crispix cereal into a large mixing bowl, then add the chocolate mixture. Very gently toss with a large spoon or spatula until the cereal is coated in the chocolate.
  • Add the powdered sugar to the bowl and very gently toss with a spoon until the cereal is completed coated.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy.

Notes

Instead of mixing in a bowl, try pouring the chocolate mixture coated cereal into a large zip top bag and add the powdered sugar then shake to coat.
The chocolate, peanut butter, and butter can be melted together in a pot on the stove over medium heat instead of using a microwave.
